CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

A little before six, Robin poked her nose into Ken’s office at Barrister, Berman, and Lockwood.

“Did Annie Finch have a diary?” Robin asked.

“It’s not in the discovery. I called Tom McKee. He says they didn’t find a diary when they searched Annie’s room.”

“What about her laptop?”

“The discovery doesn’t contain the contents of her computer because the techs at the crime lab are still compiling the information.”

“Okay. What did you find out about the Fabers?”

“Harry Faber owns a local grocery chain, with four stores in various parts of Portland and one in the suburbs. Millie Faber owns a boutique real estate agency that concentrates on homes in the wealthier sections of Portland and its suburbs. Both parents were born and raised in Portland. They met at the U of O. Donna was their only child.”

“Let’s go talk to them.”
